A Typical Day


7.45 am

Staff prepare for the day 

8.00 am 

 

 

Children and parents are welcomed by a member of staff.  

Parents/carers will have the opportunity to discuss with staff any concerns or special requirements regarding their children. Breakfast is given if required.

9.00 am

All the children will have the opportunity to play. There

will be a variety of play activities to help the children develop at

their own individual levels of ability. Activities will include manipulative, and messy and heuristic play, listening to stories, joining in with singing rhymes, playing musical instruments as well as indoor and outdoor physical play. The children will have the opportunity to go for walks and also mix with the ‘younger’ and ‘older’ children.

Nappy changes where appropriate.

10.00 am 

 

 

The children have a choice of boiled water, juice, (babies) or

milk according to their individual requirements.

Nappy changes where appropriate.

10.30 am

Play, rest, sleep according to the needs of the children.  

11.45 am

 

Dinnertime – the babies will have parent’s preference of prepared baby food or the Nursery dinner.

1.00 pm

 

 

The afternoon babies and children are welcomed by a member of staff and parents have the opportunity to talk to the staff about their baby/child.All the children continue to have the opportunity to play with a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities. They will also be able to rest, or sleep as appropriate.

Nappy changes.

2.30 pm

Drink of water or juice.

4.00 pm

 

Preparation of tea, milk feeds, baby food depending on the individual requirements of the children. Nappy changes where appropriate.

4.30 pm - 6.00 pm 

The babies and children will continue to play or rest according to their individual needs.
