St. John Ambulance Division at Peterborough High School

A Division of the St. John Ambulance has been in operation at Peterborough High School since 2003, giving students another opportunity to serve the community.

Both boys and girls from year 6 upwards can enrol and pursue their training through to the age of 18. Beyond that, there are opportunities to continue with the St. John organisation at university. We are delighted that boys will be able to train with the school division after they have left PHS at the age of 11, thereby maintaining their close links with the school.

St. John cadets receive training in nationally recognised First Aid qualifications and can attend training weekends for specialist courses and leadership qualifications.

There are summer camps and cadets undertake public duties at a range of events throughout the county, all through the year.

Many of our pupils will combine these activities with the Duke of Edinburgh award, giving them unrivalled opportunities for developing new skills, interests, challenges and personal development, which will serve them well in the future.
