Speech & Drama

The Speech and Drama department is well established within the school community and each of the teachers brings their own inimitable style and personality to the lessons, which can be taken individually, in pairs or in groups.

Tina Doyle and Patti Samuels are both professional actresses, each with a wealth of experience gained from touring in productions both here and abroad and appearing in the West End and in film.

The number of Speech and Drama examinations taken increases each year and students from Infants to Sixth Form enjoy excellent results.  In the most recent LAMDA examinations in March 2007 over a third of the students gained a Distinction.

Mrs. Samuels

Speech and Drama enables children to gain confidence in a wide variety of skills and improves many aspects of communication as well as providing an exceptional grounding in performance techniques.

Whilst at school children participate in professional productions and many have pursued acting as a career after attending prestigious drama schools.

In addition to the twice-yearly LAMDA examinations, pupils prepare for competition in the Peterborough Drama Festival, where many awards and cups are won.
