The Pre-school Unit – 3 to 5 years.
The Pre-school room is designed for children aged 3 to 5 and covers the whole of the ground floor area. There are three main areas of play, which include a messy room, construction room and main play room. Throughout all of these rooms, a variety of activities take place to encourage the six areas of learning within the Foundation Stage Curriculum, including book and home corners and a music area with a piano.
Patio doors can be opened to allow the children to play outside within a large enclosed area. Children have the opportunity to play on bikes, sit-and-rides, construct using a variety of resources and climb on the apparatus. There is also a vegetable garden where the children are encouraged to dig for mini beasts and help to grow vegetables.
As part of the planned activities, the children go on a variety of excursions throughout the year, including trips to the local library and museum. The children also participate in Summer and Christmas shows in front of parents and grand-parents.
Additionally, Pre-school children have the opportunity to participate in the extra curricular activities of French and Ballet lessons. They may also use the Games Hall at school for physical play activities.
If anyone requires information about the French or Ballet lessons, please see Pauline Bellamy or call her on 01733 569693 for details. |
