Building Bridges

‘Building Bridges’ was a government-funded opportunity to provide a range of activities for high ability children in Reception to Year 6. The project was set up by Peterborough High School and Longthorpe Primary School. Children were invited to attend workshops and participate in activities in the form of ‘Challenge Days’. These included ‘Chemistry is Magic’, ‘There are only Seven Stories in the Whole Wide World’ and a modelling workshop led by a professional ceramist.

Project funds allowed for the setting up of the Peterborough branch of the National Association for Gifted Children, which children of high ability across the city are able to attend.

Rotary Club

The Peterborough Rotary Club is a great supporter of the school: it gives opportunities for our senior girls to participate in public speaking competitions and, working with our Careers Department, its members provide invaluable practice in job interviews for our Year 11 girls.
