The Baby Unit- 6 weeks to 24 months.
The Baby Room is designed to meet the needs of young children. There is an annexed sleep area and separate kitchen and changing facilities.
The staff in the Baby Room provide individual care and attention to the children to ensure that their constant and changing needs are met, working with parents to promote continuity from the home to the Nursery.
Parents receive a daily record, keeping them informed of how your child has been throughout the day. A member of the Baby Room staff is also available to talk to you at the beginning and end of your child's session.
The Baby Room follows the Birth to Three Framework, which incorporates using a wide variety of experiences, opportunities and activities to promote your baby's development. The staff take regular observations of the children and their achievements, enabling them to form plans based on their children's individual likes and dislikes. These observations are then recorded in a file of work as Celebrations of Achievements.
The Baby Room staff take the children for regular walks around the area, as an opportunity to enhance their senses, such as to the train station and nearby rowing lake. They also have the opportunity to mix with the Toddler children in the outdoor play area.
Your baby's Key Worker will also liaise closely with the staff in the Toddler Room to ensure that your baby's transition to the new environment is as relaxing as possible. |
