The Peterborough School's first Music Festival culminated in a glittering Festival Concert and Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening.

Parents, students, staff and guests were entertained by a variety of performances and early in the evening enjoyed the Open Class which crowned Rebekah Baugh as The Peterborough School Young Musician of the Year.  The Ensemble Class Final was won by the Jazz Ensemble (Abigail Patterson, Dominic Zizza, Kathryn Smyth, Rebekah Baugh and Toby Fowler), playing Blues in F, and the Duet Final was won by Kathryn Smyth and Abigail Jessop, playing two pieces by Vivaldi.

Winners and Runners Up in each Class during the week received medals and trophies from guest adjudicator, Andrew Reid, and the final prize of the week, The Most Promising Musician 2013, went to Abigail Patterson.

The week-long Festival attracted over 190 entries in 28 classes, covering all abilities and seven adjudicators came to the School to provide constructive feedback and advice for future performances.

The Festival was a huge success and a wonderful display of the talents of a large number of our students.  Well done to all the participants, the instrumental teachers and the Music Department.
