'Annie' Plays to Packed Houses

'Annie' Plays to Packed Houses

A cast of over 80 students wowed audiences over four nights with this year's Musical production of 'Annie'.

This year's whole School production was 'Annie' and the performances played to packed houses over the weekends of 11th, 12th and 18th, 19th November.

The cast of over 80 students performed brilliantly under the guidance of Director of Creative Arts, Tina Doyle, and were wonderfully supported by the orchestra led by Alan Steel.  We welcomed back former student performers who joined current pupils from Infants right through to Year 13.  They were assisted by a vast number of student and staff volunteers who helped with the set, backstage, front of house, adminstratively, as chaperones and with costumes.

The final evening's Gala Performance, a black tie event for digntaries, governors, invited guests as well as parents, was a fabulous occasion when guests enjoyed drinks and canapes while listening to musical performances by students.  The show itself wowed the audience and gained a well-deserved standing ovation and much acclaim.

The Headmaster ended the evening by congratulating all those who had performed over the four nights, thanking all those who had supported the production and he presented Miss Doyle with a bouquet.
