Academic Achievements

The school exists to provide “Education with Character” so that pupils have an outstanding launch for life, both academically and in their personal development. This is achieved by a broad and modern curriculum, excellent experiences within and beyond the classroom and a caring ambience in which individuals flourish.

A highly qualified and committed teaching staff, for whom Continuing Professional Development is provided, ensure that every pupil who works well ensures a personal best. We also exploit the advantages of our continuous school on one site; sports coaching to a high Prep School standard exists for our junior girls and boys and the Head of Science either teaches or runs clubs for every pupil from Year 3 to 13!

In 2008, 100% of our Year 11 students achieved at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C.  This statistic includes the grades of our overseas students, who work in English as an additional language.  The overall pass rate (grades A*-C) was 94.3% and well over half (54.2%) of all the grades achieved were at A* or A.

Philippa Chester gained nine A*s and one A and Nainika Menon eight A*s and two As.  Japanese student, Moe Suzuki gained six A*s and four As.

At A Level in 2008, we had a 100% pass rate and our A-C grade percentage was also up at 82%.  Lauren Armstrong and Rachel Dance both gained four As.
